With the lake on your door step and the ocean beyond that, there is no end of activity to put your hand to. Standup Paddle Boarding is perfect on the calm lake. The water is shallow and the lake is extensive. Troll along in a kayak for flathead or head to the nearby beaches for a fish, surf or stroll.
For the water enthusiasts, Smiths Lake is a salt water environment that is very popular for swimming, skiing and fishing and all outdoor watersports. It also supports all the fish species normally found along the east coast, bream, flathead, whiting, flounder, blackfish, blue swimmer crabs etc.
You can put your boat in when you arrive and leave it on the buoy out front or parked on the beach, right in front of your apartment for the duration of your stay.
A full wash down area is located next to your apartment.
Smiths is also extremely popular with the sailboarding and kitesurfing fraternity as the clean sandy bottom and shallow water, in parts of the lake, makes it ideal for those speed runs.
Paddleboarders will also have a great time on Smiths Lake and Sandbar Beach.
From sunrise to sunset, the lake and the nearby beaches are beautiful to sit by, read, stroll or have a BBQ. Sitting by the lakes edge or sitting on the deck is only a matter on metres.
Smiths Lake is has some nice cafes nearby and Forster is a very pleasant 25min meandering drive to the north. We are surrounded by national parks with rainforests, cliff-edge walks and to the east the rolling hills out to the Gloucester & Barrington Tops.
Seriously, there is plenty to do and see, read your favourite book by the lake, sight-see, bush-walk, sun bake, or just relax, the list can be as long or as short as you want to make it.
